Lisbon’s longest tram route, travelling between the city centre and the Algés district to the west, via Belém. It uses modern tram cars only.
The tram takes a short loop within the city centre’s Baixa district so there are several stops to choose from, including the Praça Da Figueira, one of historic central Lisbon’s main squares, which routes 12E and 25E also pass though.
Another useful city centre boarding point is Cais do Sodré, where you can buy a 24 hour ticket, transfer to the 18E and 25E tram lines, plus the metro.
From the city centre it’s an approximately 45 minute (10 kilometre / 6 1/2 mile) ride to the route’s end at Algés, or 40 minutes if you get off at Belém.
Belém is a popular tourist destination, so even though this route does not use historic remodelado tram cars it is always busy with visitors enjoying all that Lisbon has to offer.
