Route 24E

Lisbon tram E24

Tram route 24E did not operate for many years, but it’s been reinstated.

It runs from the city centre to the Campolide district to the north, using historic tram cars.

The city centre starting point is Praça Luís de Camões in the Chiado district, where you can transfer to 28E tram line or the nearby Baixa-Chiado metro station.

The heritage remodelado trams take around 20 minutes to complete their journey from one end of the line to the other. They pass through the Príncipe Real district, which is one of Lisbon’s most exclusive and affluent, with many up-market shops, bars and restaurants.

There is little to interest tourists at the Campolide end of the line, but as this route uses heritage tramcars it makes a viable alternative to one of the busier routes if you simply want a ride on an old tram.
