This is the iconic Lisbon tram that every tourist wants to ride.
The route runs between the city centre and Campo Ourique, via Alfama, Baixa, Chiado and Estrela, using historic tram cars.
The heritage remodelado trams take around 50 minutes to complete their journey from one end of the line to the other, negotiating narrow streets, tight bends and steep hills along the way.
The city centre end is Praça Martim Moniz, one of historic central Lisbon’s main squares, which is also the starting place of route 12E, although the two routes do not use the same tram stop.
At the Campo Ourique end you can transfer to the 25E tram, as the two routes terminate at the same place .
Be aware that you must exit the tram at the end of the line, even if you want to travel back straight away. You will therefore need to pay (and probably queue) again.
